It’s now spring, the water is warming up (so we hope!) and the Real Estate Market is waking up from it’s winter slumber! What are the trends and the expectations we are seeing for this Spring Market?

What We’re Expecting:

We expect real estate in our area, Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Meaford and Clearview to remain strong in 2018 despite the cooling of sales and home prices. The past couple years have been rigours and challenging to navigate for both buyers and sellers.

In 2018 we are looking forward to working together from the perspective of ‘right sizing’, ‘investing’ and ‘building our communities’. We are expected to see balance in our marketplace.

Though ice hummocks are beautiful, appealing and can portray a wonderful shade of blue, we would like to remind you that while beautiful yes, there are dangers surrounding walking, exploring or playing on the hummocks themselves. 

What are Ice Hummocks?

Ice Hummocks are large chunks of ice that get pushed into shore. They can build up and create quite an intriguing and beautiful shoreline made purely by mother nature.

While the temperatures are fluctuating between winter and spring the waves shift and push the ice shelf around sometimes pulling it out into the lake and other times pushing it back to shore. The Jen Scholte Team Reminds You To Spring Forward This Weekend

Spring is just around the corner! On Sunday March 11th at 2:00am we "spring forward" 1 hour into daylight savings time. Sadly however, we lose an hour of sleep which can be hard on the body and have consequences. 

Here are some tips for a healthy and happy transition into Daylight Savings! 

  1. Start going to bed earlier. Even 15 minutes early for a few days prior will help your body acclimate quicker
  2. Adjust the timing of your daily routines, such as eating dinner a touch earlier 
  3. Spring forward early in the evening on Saturday. Set your clocks an hour ahead Saturday evening and go to bed at your "normal" time. By doing so you're prepping early for the change giving your body an
