The Jen Scholte Team Reminds You To Spring Forward This Weekend

Spring is just around the corner! On Sunday March 11th at 2:00am we "spring forward" 1 hour into daylight savings time. Sadly however, we lose an hour of sleep which can be hard on the body and have consequences. 

Here are some tips for a healthy and happy transition into Daylight Savings! 

  1. Start going to bed earlier. Even 15 minutes early for a few days prior will help your body acclimate quicker
  2. Adjust the timing of your daily routines, such as eating dinner a touch earlier 
  3. Spring forward early in the evening on Saturday. Set your clocks an hour ahead Saturday evening and go to bed at your "normal" time. By doing so you're prepping early for the change giving your body an extra night to get used to the difference before having to get up for work Monday morning. 
  4. Get some Vitamin D. Head out for some Sunday morning rays if you can. Your body will love the Vitamin D. 
  5. Work From Home. If you have the option to avoid the roads all together Monday morning, take the day and be productive from the comfort and safety of your own home. 
  6. Don't drive distracted
  7. Bring Sunglasses. Because of the change in time, you may now be driving home during daylight. Also, the sunrise or sunset may now occur during your commute to or from work, be sure you can see clearly!
