What's Happening in Our Region this Canada Day?

Our country is full of beauty and wonder, and we are lucky enough to live in such a beautiful area of Ontario. So with that, let's Celebrate and welcome others from all over to join us as well! Here is a breakdown of Canada Day Festivities in our Region: 


Celebrate the country and community we call home at the Collingwood Festival for Canada, June 30 - July 1. This glowing family festival in the historic, harbour front community of Collingwood is a traditional tribute to this glorious country.  Enjoy a full line-up of activities for the entire family including strolling entertainment, live music and on-the-water events. In the heart of historic Downtown Collingwood you will find unique shops, restaurants, including more than 25 outdoor patios to enjoy a quick coffee, leisurely lunch or a gourmet dinner. Of course Canada Day wouldn't be complete without the famous pancake breakfast, Citizenship Reaffirmation Ceremony, gigantic Canada Day birthday cake, and spectacular fireworks in Collingwood downtown!

June 30th - July 2nd visit The Blue Mountain Village for a Celebration of Canada with ceremonial flag cake, live music all weekend, headlining band The CARPET FROGS, guided hiking, family activities, SUBARU Movies Under The Stars and FIREWORKS!

Enjoy a Fireworks Display at Tomahawk Complex, 417230 10th Line, Thornbury starting approximately 9:30pm on Saturday June 30th plus on July 1st enjoy a parade, pancake breakfast and much more!

Saturday, June 30, 2018 6:00 PM - 11:00 PM Location: Playland Park Square - 40 Mosley Street

Shawn Desman performing in Wasaga Beach on Canada Day weekend  

The town of Wasaga Beach is excited to announce that Shawn Desman will be headlining the Wasaga Beach Canada Day Kick Off at Playland Park Square on June 30th. Desman is a platinum selling Juno award winning recording artist who has been a trailblazer in Canadian Pop music, delivering chart-topping hits including "shook", "shiver", "electric" and "night like this". The concert will also feature DJ 4 Korners before and after Desman performs. Tickets are $30 in advance and $45 at the door. A limited amount of tickets are available. Doors open at 6pm. Playland Park is located at 40 Mosley St. 

Sunday, July 1, 2018 12:00pm - 10:00pm Location: Beach Area 1

Celebrate Canada's 151'st Birthday on the Beach! July 1 activities in Playland Park Square, 40 Mosley St. start 12pm - 4pm include new creative kids activities, maple syrup taffy, bouncy castles, giant inflatables, pedal planes, circus entertainers, Zoochanicals, bike valet, community partners, fantastic bands, incredible entertainment and much more! Free parking in Beach Area 1 and 2 Municipal Lots July 1! Concert doors open at 4:00pm with Tragically Hip Tribute Band Little Bones, Scotty James Band, and headliner Justin Nozuka, an award winning Canadian-American singer and songwriter. The concert is free for everyone with a fenced ticketed, licensed *VIP area. And for the perfect evening, incredible beach fireworks at 10pm! Advanced *VIP tickets are $20 each, and available at www.wasagabeach.ticketwise.com. Limited tickets available.
